The Top 10 Interior Trends You Don’t Want To Miss in 2026

It’s that time of year again when we get to see what exciting new interior trends are expected to define homes in 2026. Whether you love vintage decor, cosy rustic homes, or bright, eclectic interiors, there’s a trend on the horizon you won’t want to miss.

Art DecoĀ

According to Pinterest Predicts, Art Deco is back, and it’s going to be big. We started to see the rise of this trend this past Autumn, seeing significant spikes in searches for terms such as ā€œart deco vintageā€ and ā€œart deco interior 1920s vintageā€; so it’s no surprise we’re seeing Art Deco prepped to take over in 2026.Ā

Pinterest describes the Neo Deco trend as retro with a modern twist: ā€œshiny, sleek and tuned to 2026…with crisp chevrons, fan arches and other geometric hits, all edges in chrome or brass.ā€ It’s bold, indulgent, elegant glamour.Ā

Give this modern take on vintage a bold edge with striking geometric patterns, metallic accents, and rich jewel tones such as teal blue, garnet red, and emerald green, balanced by black, white, and gold.

Modern TuscanĀ

Think about a dreamy Tuscan villa in the Italian countryside, with a contemporary twist. The modern Tuscan trend is inspired by the traditional, rustic look of Tuscan villas and adds a modern touch through sleek furniture and elegant silhouettes. The colour palette is full of warm neutrals and natural, earthy tones like terracotta and light browns. It is simple, cosy, and sophisticated, with luxurious, natural textures.Ā

Style this look with wooden furniture, organic decor like jute rugs and linen curtains, and a focus on relaxed outdoor living.

Eclectic Minimalism

This past year, we’ve seen maximalism and dopamine decor everywhere. These styles celebrate playful abundance, filling your space with life and personality. In 2026, we’ll see them evolve into a more refined take known as eclectic minimalism.

Eclectic minimalism blends the clean lines and pared-back nature of minimalist design with the personality and fun of eclectic decor. It’s a way of embracing the philosophy of sparking joy through your interiors in a simpler, softer way.Ā

Retro, Colourful Nostalgia

Another adaptation of maximalism and dopamine decor is spaces inspired by retro, colourful nostalgia. We’re seeing this through trends likeĀ Throwback Kid and Fun Haus from Pinterest. This trend is all about recreating childhood nostalgia through pieces and styles that take you back. Embrace bold, primary colours, look for vintage furniture pieces, style fun patterns such as stripes and checkerboard, and hunt down retro toys and decor you loved as a kid to bring it all together.

Large Statement Art PiecesĀ

In 2026, we’re going to see more designers incorporating large statement pieces in spaces. From expansive murals to huge canvases to wall tapestries and extra-large rugs. It’s all about making an impact and choosing one piece as your striking focal point.Ā

While this trend might seem bold, it’s surprisingly easy to make it work. Start with an extra-large statement artwork, then draw out two or three colours from its palette and repeat them around the room. Use one for the walls, another for soft furnishings like cushions, and finish with a coordinating rug to create a cohesive, well-balanced space.

Organic MaterialsĀ

Organic materials will be a big focus in 2026 interior design. From wooden furniture to natural-fibre rugs to linen bedding, we’re seeing people drawn towards natural, high-quality, timeless pieces. These organic materials offer textural interest to the space, adding depth and layers. The neutral tones help to create a sophisticated, calming atmosphere that is cosy yet still inviting. These materials also offer an eco-conscious choice for people increasingly seeking more sustainable approaches to interior design.Ā

Colour TrendsĀ

Cool Blues

Pinterest have predicted cool blue will ice out any other colour competition this year. This colour brings cool-toned sophistication to any space, whether you’re colour-drenching your room or looking for the perfect accent colour.Ā

Cool blue is being hailed as the new pop of red, emerging from the popular ā€œunexpected red theoryā€, where you can add a splash of red to any space to elevate it. Now, people are using blue in the same way. Add a blue cushion here, or some blue trim there, and your space is instantly uplifted.Ā

Effortlessly versatile, cool blue can be styled into retro, nostalgic colour palettes, pared-back eclectic minimalist spaces, or used as a refreshing accent in an Art Deco interior.

Natural Greens

Have you heard that green is the new neutral? Because we certainly have. From sage to matcha to olive, green is everywhere in interior design right now. There were multiple shades of green featured in Lick’s 2026 Colour Edit, Valspar announced their Colour of the Year as Warm Eucalyptus, and Pinterest is going crazy for khaki. This natural, biophilic shade is a versatile, grounding, and calming colour we can’t wait to see everywhere in 2026.Ā

Lofty Whites

Pantone has crowned their much-anticipated Colour of the Year, and it’s… white. Certainly not what we expected. Cloud Dancer is a lofty, airy white that is supposedly a response to an overstimulated, oversaturated world. It’s a call to find joy and relaxation in simplicity through creating tranquil spaces.Ā

Is this going to be the colour that takes over 2026, or is it all just fluff? We’ll have to wait and see.Ā

Rich Reds

It’s time to paint the town red, or at least paint your home red. While in 2025 we saw tomato and cherry reds all over our feeds, the colour is taking a more sophisticated, grounded approach in 2026. Look towards more earthy colour palettes for brick reds and terracottas, as well as deeper tones such as wine red and rich plum. Whether you’re looking for aĀ red rug or want a more elegant take on the ā€œunexpected red theoryā€, these red shades work beautifully in a range of different interior styles.
